During the Sony press conference at E3 2015, Hello Games gave viewers a brief taste of some No Man's Sky gameplay.
A video showcased the player taking part in an intergalactic battle, firing weapons in space combat. The scale of the game was also emphasized, showing the immense size of the universe.
That was followed by a trip to a random solar system and planet, highlighting scanning functions that located points of interest such as beacons, where you can upload discoveries.
Scanning reveals no alien life on this particular planet, but the demo went on to show off destructible environments and Sentinels that protect planets from destruction-hungry explorers.
