Along with the official announcement of the Destiny expansion The Taken King, Bungie has released details about the full DLC Collector’s Edition coming to retailers in the near future. The CE comes in both digital and physical releases and contains enough goodies to make any Destiny fan excited.
The physical CE will come in a limited steelbook case tucked neatly in a specially designed box adorned with the Taken King logo. Inside, players will find a small collection of ‘relics and artifacts,’ which look to be a few odd playing cards and some art based on the game. The Collector’s Edition will also come with a modified journal, filled with notes and drawings from the character Cayde-6. Most notably, the journal has been hollowed out to hide a replica strange coin inside.
Both the physical and digital Collector’s Edition will give players access to three new class-specific emotes, an early access weapons pack, three armor shaders, and three exotic class items that will reward bonus XP while worn. In addition to including new DLC, the CE will come with the Destiny base game and both preceding expansion packs.
The Taken King Collector’s Edition retails for $79.99, with the same price for both the digital and physical versions. It’s worth noting however that the physical CE will only come with an Xbox One or PS4 copy of Destiny; players seeking the game on PS3 or Xbox 360 are limited to the digital edition only. The digital edition is up for pre-purchase as of this writing, but the physical version is locked tightly behind a ‘coming soon’ banner. Destiny: The Taken King releases for PS4, Xbox One, PS3, and Xbox 360 on September 15.
