Toydaria is a muddy planet located in the Toydaria system of Hutt Space and home to the mind trick-resistant Toydarians. The planet is well known to remain neutral in most conflicts though a notable exception to this rule is when the late King Katuunko allowed the Galactic Republic to use Toydaria as a base to deliver supplies to the besiged Twi'leks of Ryloth during the Clone Wars. Now, the planet has returned to it's regular rule of Hutt Cartels and Feudal monarchy and although there isn't much to attract tourist to the foul smelling land, Smashball stands out as the exception. The violent sport had a massive following prior to the Clone Wars and despite originating in the Outer Rim Territories it's influence spreads far and wide. With Toydarians being notorious gamblers, they often host the sport on their home world during off seasons to keep the economy flowing with the support of the Hutts. Watto, a Toydarian junk trader and human trafficker from Tatooine, has hit hard times in recent years after he lost a devastating bet to a jedi by the name of Qui-Gon Jinn over the Boonta Eve Classic podrace. After retiring his shop to a Rodian named W. Wald, Watto continued to search for a rebound on his bad luck. He now spends his days traveling between the Outer Rim and Toydaria to hire those he finds of good athletic stature to participate in Smashball tournaments with a promise of a large cut of his betting profits.
