Anyone that follows gaming news is likely to be aware that Mortal Kombat creator Ed Boon has been dropping hints in a unique countdown via twitter through the entire month of May leading up to today, June 2nd. All the photos, quirks and ramblings have lead to the reveal of this; Mortal Kombat X. Along with the news comes a reveal trailer that shows Scropion and Sub-Zero facing off in a frozen forest using the environment to literally beat the ever living shit out of each other. Of course, if you know Ed Boon, you already know his personal favorite character is going to win in the trailer, and he does. It doesn't disappoint. The game is set to launch in 2015 and if retailer leaks are anything to take into account it seems to be coming to this gen and last gen on both Sony and Microsoft systems. Check out the full story and the amazing trailer at the source below. You won't regret it! If the trailer is anything to go by, it's taking elements of Injustice with environmental manipulation.
Also, Boon used DC for hints during the countdown. Maybe some DLC character will be from the DC universe, or perhaps this is actually Mortal Kombat X DC Universe. Which, would be doing the original idea right with gore. BUUUUT, I doubt it.
Mortal Kombat X is likely just Mortal Kombat 10 and will be awesome.

Well X does stand for 10 in roman numerals. So I'm pretty sure it is supposed to be 10.
