Sony has renamed its Vita TV device for the U.S. The unit will be known as PlayStation TV when it launches here.
The device, which has already been released in Japan, will be available for $99 for the base unit and $139 as part of a bundle. The bundle includes a PlayStation TV, a DualShock 3 controller, an 8GB memory card, an HDMI cable, and a download voucher for the Vita version of The Lego Movie Videogame.
I can only assume they renamed the device due to the poor sales of the Playstation Vita in North America while the Nintendo 3DS dominates the handheld market.
That being said, it would be really cool to play classic PS1 and PS3 games on my TV via that tiny little box.
