Below are a list of all the planned events that didn't make the cut into the 2014 Alignment Wars and the reasons why they didn't!
[li]DEFIANCE Dueling Tournament[/li]
[li]World of Warcraft Dueling Tournament[/li]
[li]World of Warcraft Battlegrounds[/li]
[li]Heavy Weapon Surivival[/li]
[li]Dungeon Defenders[/li]
[li]Gears of War 3 - Horde[/li]
[li]Halo 3: Bat outta' Hell[/li]
[li]Halo 4 Forge: Design a PN Arean![/li]
[li]Call of Duty: Black Ops II Quickscopes[/li]
[li]Call of Duty: Black Ops II Michael Myers[/li]
[li]Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3[/li]
[li]Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2[/li]
[li]TOXIC FM: Six Hour Revival Show[/li]
[li]Minecraft PVP[/li]
[li]Grand Theft Auto Online: PN Raid[/li]
[li]Halo 4: ORL Throwback[/li]
[li]Mortal Kombat Tournament[/li]
[li]Machinima Contest[/li]
[li]Star Wars: Trivial Pursuit[/li]
[li]Rock Band - Battle of the Bands[/li]
[li]Pokémon X & Y Battles[/li]
[li]Single Player/Campaign Adventures[/li]
[li]Forum Activities[/li]

As you can see, I had plenty of events either fully planned on at least thought of. In fact, the Alignment Wars was originally going to span two to three months as opposed to one. However, with the upcoming release of Destiny along with other high quality titles, I figured it was best to keep the event contained to a month or else face the depressing vanishing act of our community members as they moved onto newer things.
Alignment wars is planned to be an annual event and will return in 2015 with more events and in a more fleshed out and cleaner execution.
Thanks for reading!
- UNO (Doubles)
- The UNO event was a great idea in theory and would have made for a lot of fun. However, the game never made it into an official calender because I wasn't sure how to manage the scoring, nor was I sure how many people had the game.
[li]DEFIANCE Dueling Tournament[/li]
- The Defiance Dueling tournament was actually one I was really looking forward too. It would have pitted players in exotic locals to battle it our with one another. The event was cut due to the exceptionally long patch times and the fact that the game has recently received massive updates with shields and health modifications along with multiple weapon upgrade. In other words, I had no idea what was OP and shouldn't be allowed. This is the second time a DEFIANCE dueling tournament has been planned for the community and never made it out of the gate. The first was back in March of this year, I even made a video announcing the event on our YouTube, only to take it down within 24 hours. (It still exists, it's just hidden!)
[li]World of Warcraft Dueling Tournament[/li]
- The WoW Dueling event as you can guess was directly inspired by the Defiance one. The event never made it off paper due to the low population of WoW players.
[li]World of Warcraft Battlegrounds[/li]
- This event would of had players from both teams working together to claim victories in Battlegrounds. The rough draft of scoring would have been based on individual player performance. The event was cut due to low player count and the inability to have a clear cut idea of scoring.
[li]Heavy Weapon Surivival[/li]
- The Heavy Weapon event would have pitted two teams of four players in a survival game with the simple objective of outlasting the enemy team. This event was scrapped due to complications in proving your teams time without a Neutral Team player present. In other words, it could have been done, but would have been a hassle.
[li]Dungeon Defenders[/li]
- Similar to the Heavy Weapon event, though this one didn't make it far into planning. I never even wrote up a scoring system.
[li]Gears of War 3 - Horde[/li]
- This is another event I was excited about. It would have gone one of two ways. Either two teams of players battled it out to reach 50 the quickest, or make it the furthest, OR a single team would compete to earn the most points. For example, two team members would post up on one side of the map and set up a base of command while another two took the other side with Neutral player providing them both resources. The team to survive the longest and claim the most points would have taken the win. This event actually made it to the final draft of the calandar, but was cut to keep the count to two events per week.
[li]Halo 3: Bat outta' Hell[/li]
- This event would have taken place on the best version of Bat Outta' Hell back on Halo 3. The scoring would have worked similiar to the Halo 4 variant (that was ultimately replaced with Grifball). The fact that not many players own the map packs for Halo 3 put this event out of the count.
[li]Halo 4 Forge: Design a PN Arean![/li]
- Originally intended to be launched along side the Minecraft event, this event would've had two teams of players building the ultimate Panic Nation themed (or advertised) Slayer arena on Halo 4. It was discarded due to Meta Karnax and DARKSTAR o72 being our only 'active' forgers in the community and due to concerns that the event would be over looked in favor of the Minecraft Design.
[li]Call of Duty: Black Ops II Quickscopes[/li]
- Before the 3v3 event was planned, the Quickscopes event was in it's place. This would have pitted two teams of players on Nuketown with preset DSR and Ballista classes. Points would have played out by round.
[li]Call of Duty: Black Ops II Michael Myers[/li]
- Planned once a large group of Panic Nation members had a blast sprinting around after each other for over two hours one night. This event was on the final draft of the calendar and was cut for the same reason as the Gears 3 Horde event.
[li]Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3[/li]
- Players would have went back to the 90's in this classic event. It would have played similar to the Street Fighter tournament. However, due to only three or four members (myself included) owning the game and it no longer being available on the marketplace excluding the trilogy bundle (which isn't compatible with the original), this game was eliminated during the first draft.
[li]Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2[/li]
- What you see is what you get. The farthest this event made it into the planning was having the games title written down. An actual game was never planned.
[li]TOXIC FM: Six Hour Revival Show[/li]
- xFireviperx and I would have taken to the air for three hours each in this event. The event was far too long and cut in favor of the two hour Revival/Star Wars trivia show.
[li]Minecraft PVP[/li]
- Taking place on a Hunger Games map, this event would have essentially been team deathmatch on Minecraft. It was excluded in favor of the White Noise Online event.
[li]Grand Theft Auto Online: PN Raid[/li]
- This event was similar to the Anarchy in Los Santos event, but would have had eight players, four from each team, dropping into a public Free Roam mode and ruining the day of every single player in the game. Scoring would have been based on devastation caused. It was cut in favor of Anarchy in Los Santos. Though this event is planned to make a come back in a game night with a smaller 4-6 player count.
[li]Halo 4: ORL Throwback[/li]
- This event would have taken Panic Nation back to the early days of DiY when ORL was being born and thriving on fun competitive mongoose racing. The event was replaced with 'Demotracks' to have a more team oriented focus and also in part to my unsureness of DARKSTAR being around as he was very inactive during the time of planning and I have no idea how to execute these races in Halo 4.
[li]Mortal Kombat Tournament[/li]
- This event would have played exactly as the original 'King of the Hill' Street Fighter game, but was quickly replaced by Street Fighter due to low player count.
[li]Machinima Contest[/li]
- Players would have been tasked with making the best video for the community. This includes using their personal PVRS or the more available DVR's built into Xbox One Consoles.
[li]Star Wars: Trivial Pursuit[/li]
- Originally executed as a game night via Skype a few months ago, this event was going to make a come back. However, the inclusion of Star Wars trivia via the Toxic Revival show made this idea obsolete.
[li]Rock Band - Battle of the Bands[/li]
- This event would have taken place using the 'Battle of the Bands' feature on Rock Band 2 or 3. However, once I realized I had sold all my instruments and only about four members of the community played these games, I scratched it off the list.
[li]Pokémon X & Y Battles[/li]
- Pretty self explanatory. There would have been rules set and teams of Good and Evil would have fought it out using Pokémon. The failure of the Pokémon project showed lack of interest in Panic Nation expanding to the 3DS and in turn cancelled this event.
[li]Single Player/Campaign Adventures[/li]
- Some events were planned around either co-op campaigns or single player adventures. Some of these included Skyrim, Borderlands 2 and Halo 3's campaign. They were going to be scored on speed runs, skill levels and etc. The single player portion was forgotten in favor of team efforts and the co-op campaign bits were left out due to difficulty scoring.
[li]Forum Activities[/li]
- Lastly, players were originally going to be able to earn points for their teams by being active on the forums. I never got all of the details planned out, however, players would have earned between 10-20 points for posting a full review in the reviews section, submitting an article to the newsletter, featuring a graphic on the site and so on. The idea was only scrapped due to time limitations and the difficulty I would have had trying to manage points while running other areas of the community.
