If you have been away from the Tower for a little while, check your email. You might have a note from Bungie letting you know about a special gift waiting for you in Destiny.
The email managing editor Matt Bertz received isn’t just a notification about his shiny new legendary armor, though. It features some additional information about increasing your light level to push past 20. Bungie recommends playing Vanguard strike playlists to earn marks, which in turn allow you to purchase legendary gear.
If you’ve received one of these emails, log into Destiny and head to the postmaster to claim your gift and nudge past level 20. That might get you on the road to completing the Vault of Glass raid and ready for the first DLC drop on December 9.

PN Opinion: It looks like Bungie is trying to push some people into gearing up past 20 to take on the Vault of Glass. Since the games release, I've seen a lot of posts on Game Informer comments and Reddit posts of people saying things along the lines of, "I got to level 20 and got bored as hell. This game blows! It's all the same!" Which is a common occurrence in MMOesque games that require a grind. The truth is, the game gets much better as you make it into the later light levels and can take on high level content such as the raid.
This might also be a push to get some more Guardian's back in the tower. Maybe Bungie saw a hit in population with the launch of Call of Duty yesterday/today. But, alas, this news doesn't mean much for Panic Nation as most of us leveled past 20 ages ago.
