343 Industries has delayed the Halo: The Master Chief Collection patch intended to further improve matchmaking. The game has been suffering from significant problems with its online component, resulting in 343 scaling back the playlists to funnel players into more populated areas.
The patch has been delayed for further refinement and to go through Microsoft’s certification process. “This content update includes a variety of fixes across the title, including Matchmaking performance issues, general UI and game stability improvements, as well as fixes for game-game specific issues in Halo: CE, Halo 2, and Halo 2: Anniversary, and more,” the developer writes.
The problems with The Master Chief Collection’s matchmaking have delayed the pre-season start for the Halo Championship Series. 343 Industries has been contrite about the situation, with head of Xbox Phil Spencer taking to Twitter to address the situation himself in response to user complaints.
“Sorry about the issues,” he writes. “I know our fans expect more from us. Team is making progress but I know it's still disappointing.”
PN Opinion: Is anyone surprised? Like literally, go ask your grandmother. Is she surprised? Because I doubt she's surprised.
