Hello Panic People and welcome to Sub-Zero's Kold Kombat Tournament. This event will take place through the month of May and is open exclusively to Panic Nation members.
In the Kold Kombat tournament, players will register in Bronze, Silver or Gold Tier ladders where they will be matched against fellow Kombatants of similar skill levels and engage in best two out of three rounds of Mortal Kombat.
The victor of each ladder will receive a monetary prize for their success. However, if the top player is feeling confident they will be able to challenge Sub-Zero or one of his allied warriors to battle in a gamble of DOUBLE OR NOTHING to double their prize money or FORFEIT it all. The champion battles will be a best three out of five run as opposed to the regular two out of three.
Player's are allowed to select any character or variation they wish. Certain rules will be enforced by a referee who will be monitoring the matches closely, breaking these rules will result in certain penalties. These offenses are monitored on a by opponent basis, meaning your offenses will run over the course of the best 2 out of 3 set before resetting on your next opponent.
They are as follows:
- Spamming - If a player uses the same move (this includes juggling combos) four times in a row without any combo or a 5 second delay, whichever comes first, in between hits the player will receive a hit penalty. A first offense will give the victim a free uppercut on the offender. A second offense will allow the victim five seconds of free hits on the offender including X-Rays. A third offense will cause the offender to forfeit the round. A fourth offense will result in disqualification of the match for the offender.
- Corner Holding - A player is allowed to maintain a corner hold for no more than three seconds. Once this time has elapsed the kombatants must cease fighting long enough to move back to the center of the map.
- Turtling - Players are allowed to play as defensively as they like. However, if a user maintains a blocking only play style without attacking for longer than ten seconds they will receive an uppercut penalty from the victim.
Player's may register for the tournament by replying to this thread with the ladder they would like to participate in. Final player placement will be decided by CaptainSlayer to maintain an even balance of skill so please register for the ladder you believe you'll best fit into. Player's may participate in multiple ladders but ONLY of higher skill than their initial placement. For example, if you get placed the bronze ladder you may participate in the silver and gold ladders as well though if you get placed in the gold ladder you cannot participate in lower tiered towers.
Match schedules will be announced once registration has finished. This event is designed to be extremely competitive and offer excitment fused with adrenaline. Tensions and tempers will be high but remember, we're all friends here - disrespecting one another will result in immediate disqualification from the tournament. Never forget, we're here for fun and it's just a game.
